Constraints

  • A permit must be issued by the Catchment Management Authority before the start of any works on a designated waterway.
  • Native vegetation along waterways and in wetlands is protected under the Native Vegetation Provision of the local Planning Scheme.
  • Crown land waterway frontages require the adjoining landholder to contact Department of Sustainability and Environment - Crown Land Management before any activities/works are undertaken.
  • Pumping of water from a waterway generally requires a diversion licence from your local water authority.
  • Dams will require a licence for:

    -  take & use if the water is for irrigation or commercial purposes.

    -  construction on a waterway.

    -  off a waterway dependant of wall size and dam capacity

    A dam may require a permit, contact your local shire.
