Bushland

Bushland areas on a property provide a unique opportunity to attract buyers interested in landcare and conservation. Bushland areas on rural properties vary widely, in terms of area, vegetation types, and habitat quality. Larger patches of bushland generally provide habitat for a wider range of species and are more resilient to external disturbances.

  • Significant conservation value bush (figures 10 & 11) will generally contain a ground cover of grasses and herbs, shrub layer and healthy native trees of different ages.
  • Dense ground cover with fallen timber and trees with hollows (figure 12) provide important habitat for our native animals.
  • Diminishing native grasslands also have a significant conservation value (p9).
  • Partially cleared land can retain patches of conservation bushland (figure 13).
